Annual Session of Kappa Alpha Psi Held in Philadelphia
The Grand Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi held its first national convention in Philadelphia. Lambda Chapter of Temple University and Eperion Chapter of Lincoln University were hosts. Sessions opened December 27 with a house party at Miss Hilda Freelon’s, then moved to Temple University for addresses by N. B. Duff and others. Grand officers were elected and the event featured a grand promenade and formal dances. Separately, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People charges of voter discrimination in the South sparked a tense hearing before the House committee in Washington.

Man Who Murdered Police Detective Is Resentenced
Lynchburg Virginia January 3 John H Williams alias Slim who murdered police detective Mann in March was resentenced in Corporation Court by Judge Christian to electrocution March 6. He was brought from Richmond under Supreme Court mandate after appeal. Governor Davis may commute the sentence to life imprisonment.
