State witness in famous Mohr case released
George W. Healis, a colored man who turned state's witness in the Mohr murder case, has been released from jail in Providence Rhode Island. Dr. Mohr was murdered near Barrington on August 31 1915 and his wife Mrs Mohr was charged with hiring Healis and two friends Brown and Spellman to commit the crime. Brown and Spellman were found guilty and Mrs Mohr was acquitted.
