Judge Jeremiah Lyons president judge of the Common Pleas Court for Perry and Juniata counties died at the Bingham House in Harrisburg. A cerebral hemorrhage likely caused instantaneous death as he entered seeking rest. Lyons, born September 16, 1839, had long served in the judiciary after training under Edmund S. Doty. He was in Harrisburg visiting when he collapsed and died.

Attempted assault on 10 year old girl leaves suspect arrested
Sixty eight year old George Rider was arrested in the Twenty sixth district on a charge of attempting a felonious assault on 10 year old Florence White. The girl was enticed into an alley near Boston avenue and Coral street where her cries drew witnesses Mrs Hoffner and Mrs Elliott. Rider resisted as he fled and threw Mrs Elliott to the ground before a fireman and Policeman Scanlin captured him. The child suffered shock and clothes were torn.
