London bulletin from Buckingham Palace reports the king's condition is satisfactory with substantial improvement and a comfortable day.
The King’s health continued to improve at Buckingham Palace with reports of a good day and progress. Physicians deem the danger of peritonitis past and recovery likely as crowds rejoice, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Connaught visiting the palace.
Panama officials report General Zelaya of Nicaragua dispatched a coal laden vessel to the revolutionary gunboat Padilla and that the Momotombo warship may depart Corinto with a large arms shipment for General Herrera. The move risks a rupture with Colombia.
Boer prisoners numbering 478 men sailed from the island of St Helena for South Africa after taking the oath of allegiance to Great Britain. General Cronje and about 4,000 surrendering men were also moved to St Helena, with Cronje likely among those leaving for South Africa.
Two Boer prisoners on Burt's Island escaped with one recaptured. Boers on Darrel's Island refused muster and were forced out. Commandant Milan was badly beaten during a later incident and hospitalized. Prison leave ended and inmates placed on prison fare.

Burglars forced an entrance into the home of E K Lippincott at Colwyn while the family was away. They ransacked the house and took clothing and a gold watch along with the wedding ring belonging to Mrs Lipincott.
Admiral Dewey abruptly left the Philippine Committee room as adjournment time arrived after being pressed on Aguinaldo and Manila surrender talks. He resumed testimony later denying direct ties to certain negotiations while discussing generalities of surrender signals and communications with General Merritt and officials in Manila.
