One-armed man attempts suicide in Barber shop
John Rose Small, 35, entered Esos Emberger barber shop on Seve 1 street yesterday after 4 pm, drew a razor from behind the counter, slashed his own throat and wounded Emberger. Both barbers wrestled the weapon away. Small was taken to Pennsylvania Hospital. He survived. he had just received a pension as a wounded soldier and spoke of wanting to die. He lived at Tenth and Market, unmarried, with a stand on Bight street.
