Dreer Will Leaves Fortunes to Hospitals and Homes
The late Ferdinand J. Dreer of 1520 Spruce Street died recently and his will, filed for letters testamentary, values his estate at $100,000 plus real estate thought to be much larger. Executors named are Dundas T. Platt Frederick A. Dreer S Henry Norris and William Love. The bulk of the estate goes to local charities and educational institutions with sizable sums for his children and relatives. The will directs a ten year division plan to fund twenty three institutions including Hayes Mechanics Home for Memorial Building upkeep and several hospitals and orphanages. The subdivided bequests also provide annuities and specific legacies to relatives and unnamed galleries and paintings to be placed in public or home galleries. The Spruce Street residence and contents are left to his two sons with annuities and conditions on inheritance, including a large trust fund allocation and conditions for surplus income to be distributed among institutions named in the will.
