Washington May 531 - In a rare hiss filled Senate session Mr Spooner Wisconsin spoke about the Philippine situation denouncing harm to Filipinos and opposing immediate statehood. Lodge challenged a reported massacre tale while Car Mack and Hoar clashed over colonial cruelty and policy.

Hazleton Pa May 381 Miss Catherine Pardee daughter of coal operator Frank Pardee was badly injured when thrown from her carriage. The 16 year old has recovered from the shock and doctors expect rapid healing of a left leg fracture with the prognosis favorable.
