Clarence Tanner was arrested on a charge of taking part in a sandbagging and robbery of Harry Hartman. James A. King, heir to about ten million dollars, married Maude Morrison last Thursday at her mother's home in Morrison Illinois. He is 72 and a widower with no children. Maude, 26, tall and beautiful, comes from modest means after a four year pursuit. Kings owns homes in Chicago and Pasadena. The wedding was meant to be private but word leaked out.
Mrs Minnie Runkle married a man posing as her former lover George St Clare who vanished with 200 dollars. The man is identified as Bil Frazer a bank robber. How he learned of the past remains a mystery. The marriage will be annulled.
Five village clerks were discharged by the jury in Canandaigua New York after a trial on conspiracy and coercion charges. They were accused of organizing a boycott and circulating literature against Kinde Brothers and another local firm for refusing to close at 730. Following the verdict the acquitted men hosted a banquet honoring the jurors.
The Humboldt arrived from Skagway with 40 passengers and an estimated quarter of a million dollars in Klondike gold. News of three Yukon wrecks between Dawson and White Horse River reaches Seattle as gold departs Dawson toward the St Michaels route.
Harrisburg July 14 Leo Bodish of Williamsport was found dead in a field near Rockville bridge one mile east of Marysville. His throat was cut and authorities seek to determine if death was self inflicted or a murder.
In Wilkes Barre Luzerne County Charles Wilbur was found on a road near Pyppbeop with authorities suspecting foul play after a reported assault. The incident occurred today and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Mary Burroughs of Marysville Ohio aged more than 105 is dying at her son Allen Burroughs home seven miles west. She has eight living children, 48 grandchildren, 187 great grandchildren and 47 great great grandchildren. She has not eaten for several days and has stopped smoking after years of pipe use.
James Bockiey, a white man, and avi Brandaw, a Black man, quarrel over a match. Brandaw shot Bockiey after demanding a match, and Bockiey was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
Philadelphia man Carlisle D. Graham completed his fifth barrel ride down Niagara River. He remained in a sun hot barrel for thirty five minutes and nearly suffocated before reaching the Whirlpool. He received 300 dollars from local supporters and predicted further spectacle in future performances.
In Middlesboro Kentucky two young girls died at Quarter House and keeper John Martin fled toward Tennessee after a standoff with the sheriff and posse. Martin offered surrender for bail and a confession, but was refused. Martha White suffered multiple bullet wounds and Lizzie Russell died at a friend's home in Bennettsford.
At Episcopal Hospital it was said that John Herbert stabbed in the back may die. Patrick Stapleton had his nose cut off. Four men William McCafferty William Barnes Anton Delcampo and Edward McCusker were remanded by Magistrate Wagner for a Wednesday hearing.
Alice McHone aged 25 of 2604 Sellers Street Frankford was found unconscious under a Pennsylvania Railroad crossing at Kensington Avenue late Saturday night. She lies seriously ill at Episcopal Hospital. A man named Joseph McCarey of 1516 C Street and another resident on Frankford Avenue are mentioned in connection with the incident.
Wilmington Delaware dispatch reports the torpedo boat Stringham departed today from the Harlan and Hollingsworth Company shipyards.
In Boston on July 14 William Jennings Bryan Jr and Alden Washburn climbed 80 feet to a windmill observatory on the Washburn homestead. They dared a hand over hand trek to a 70 foot flagstaff. Mr Washburn caught them as they started. They jumped into a culvert and were helped to shore. Willie aims to be a sailor and dismisses being president as no fun.
In 81 Can icus Roman Catholic Church Rev. D. L. McGinley urged women to wear head covering in church. He cited a recent wedding where many attendees wore only a bow of ribbon in their hair.
The Erik departed Farquhar's pier at North Sydney to find Peary Arctic Club Secretary Herbert L. Bridgeman in command. With Dr Frederick A. Cook aboard and confidence Peary reached the pole, the 600 ton vessel carries 24 aboard plus ten chickens three sheep a small dog and a kitten for a year long voyage. Crowds cheered as officers crew and notable guests from Washington Brooklyn Ithaca and New York witnessed the launch.
