De Montecourt returns from Brussels with orders from the Duke of Orleans as many newspapers are seized amid alert over suspected plotters in Paris.
Paris reports Premier Dupuy orders a thorough crackdown on Royalist agitation after Duc d Orleans propaganda surfaces. Police seize pamphlets and portraits, raid Buffett and Royalist headquarters, arrest five demonstrators at the Vendome column, and ban emblems near the monument.
Premier Szell secured the Emperor's approval in Vienna for a new Hungarian cabinet. Szell becomes Interior Minister, Alexander Hegedues heads Commerce, and Alexander Ploz leads Justice, with other former ministers returning. The cabinet will be sworn in tomorrow and then presented to Parliament.
Special Correspondence of The Times reports in Brussels on February 26 that the French academician Brunetiere lectured before the Geographical Society about his impressions of America gained during his travels.

Addicks is seen as likely to dominate the next Legislature and to elect himself with a “me too” senator, a scenario described as almost inevitable by a leading Democrat.
Lancaster and Port Deposit report a rising Susquehanna with ice gorges likely to break within 24 hours. Residents move belongings to upper floors while watches and alarms prepare for a flood of unknown size along the river from Chickies to Port Deposit. Water levels three feet below peak at Port Deposit.
In Norristown on February 26 the Tyson family home at King of Prussia was destroyed by a fire from a faulty flue. All escaped except 80 plus year old Samuel Tyson who slipped on the stairs. His son lunged back into the flames to rescue him and was badly burned.
William Wayne Reivin was arrested at the Waldorf Astoria on charges of threatening Denver millionaire David H. Moffatt and attempting to defraud the hotel for $142. Bail was set at $500. he remained in custody after defaulting on bail. Belvin, a Broadway figure, claimed Moffatt owes him $400,000 and warned he would kill him on sight.
The trial of United States Senator Quay and his son Richard R. Quay on charges of conspiracy with B. J. Haywood to divert funds from the People's Bank of this city will open this morning before Judge Beltler in Criminal Court room 646. Proceedings are expected to last much of the week with jurors drawn at about 10 o clock.
Special Telegram from Pittsburg reports H. D. Miller from Ohio cornered the local egg market. He bought eggs in bulk driving prices to 40 50 and 60 cents a dozen with a promise of 75 cents. A restaurant scene shows his two eggs fried without bread or meat at high cost as patrons groan.
Washington February 26 reports say the battleship Iowa will be ordered to Manila. The ship is at San Francisco undergoing repairs. Five thousand troops will sail within a week for the Philippines, with no interference reported yet. Madrid dispatches claimed foreign ships were landing troops, but latest advices from the archipelago show this untrue. The decision to dispatch comes after the President’s afternoon approval.
Manila correspondent reports no emergency exists and denies a collision between Admiral Dewey and the German naval commander. The message, dated February 26, 6.20 P. M., states such reports circulating in the United States and cabled to Manila are false.
Manila reports near midnight last night rebels concentrated near the Chinese Cemetery prompting General MacArthur to request reinforcements. Two companies of the Twenty third regulars and a battalion of the Twentieth were sent, but the anticipated attack did not occur as rebels fled into the woods after signaling with bugle calls and shout of Viva Independencia.

Grace Nagle aged 14 nearly burned by an up stairs lamp explosion. George Nagle her father was seriously burned while saving his daughter. He carried her to a snow bank and rolled her in the snow to extinguish the fire.
Six men were killed in a dynamite explosion at the Eiger Tunnel on the Jungfrau Railway in Berne Switzerland. The blast occurred last night and is believed to be an accident.
