The Pittsburg and Erie Railroad Company filed attachments in Fayette county court against Brown, Bonnell & Co. on their stakes in the Mahoning Lake Company, Limited, and in the Youngstown Coke Company, Limited. The railroad claims nearly $25,000 for freight and asserts Brown Bonnell & Co. own the Mahoning Coke Works and a quarter interest in the Youngstown works. The Youngstown works lie four miles north of Uniontown on the Southwest Railroad with 240 ovens, while the Mahoning pennae works are near Dunbar, ten miles north.
In Thrasher's Corners public hall Belleville Ontario last night the floor gave way burying about one hundred attendees. Several were injured including Thomas Kelly with a broken leg, S M Palmer with a broken leg, Mr Lawrence with a scalp wound, and W C Thompson seriously hurt. others suffered including W H Milburn John Haskin William Moon N Verrilli W Cope land N G Brintwell Charles Hudson J F Caldwell Joseph Brown W B eur 8 B Burdett and Alderman A Brignall. No fatalities reported.
Paris February 21 Prime Minister Ferry has sent President Grevy the full cabinet lineup. It includes Ferry as Prime Minister and Public Instruction, Challemel-Lacour Foreign Affairs, Waldeck-Rousseau Interior, Martin-Feuille Justice, Charles Brun Marine, Meline Agriculture, Herrison Commerce, Cochery Posts and Telegraph, Raynal Public Works, Thard Finance, and General Thibaudin War.
At three this morning Daniel Townsend and his wife Minerva, an aged couple nine miles south of Mermouis, were shot in their bed by Alexander Hill, a 20 year old farm worker. Hill, appearing demented, fled in night clothes but was soon jailed. All involved are Black. No motive given.
Special Dispatch to Twe Tanks from Washington reports the Senate military committee has favorably recommended Major William Ludlow's request for two years' leave of absence so he can become Chief of Philadelphia's Water Department. No objections expected. bill may go to the President soon.
In the Chamber of Deputies Senor Zanardelli the Minister of Justice announced plans for stricter penalties on press libel. Premier Depretis defended government action, noting the need to address excesses of the anarchic press amid a February 21 session.
Newburgh report states Andrew J. Hennion, a local florist, sat on a bed and blew his face to pieces with a double barreled gun, pulling the trigger with his feet. He had planned to be in good spirits earlier, but financial troubles likely led to his drastic act.

Thomas Birch senior partner of Thomas Birch & Sons died yesterday afternoon at 1717 Vine Street after a brief illness. A respected city citizen, he previously held a trusted city office nearly thirty years ago. He was the son of marine painter Thomas Birch, leaving five sons and three daughters in the family. He was longtime member of the Union League and various social clubs.

William H. Kemble of Union Passenger Railway had Oliver Thomas and Daniel Sarden arraigned before Magistrate C L Brown on assault charges after an incident on Wallace street. Thomas and Sarden allegedly attacked Kemble when a coal cart blocked a car, and were later released as their employer promised no further obstruction of Union cars.
Reports show Donald Smith Peddie, an elderly Scottish fugitive who fled Edinburgh last June after swindling Dissenting Ministers and the Friends' Society, defrauded about 129700 dollars. A British Consul letter suggests he died here and was buried in Potter's Field, though identity with the pauper grave remains unconfirmed.

John Gardner fatally wounded Daniel Cavanagh with a twelve inch butcher knife in a quarrel at their boarding house on North Twenty third street.
