Residents crowded the Park springs in West Philadelphia and the northwest, carrying pails and bottles as they sought clean water from the fountains. Peddlers sold water for two to five cents a gallon while laundries faced delays and officials warned that discoloration would persist without urgent system improvements.

Pottsville February 12 a gas explosion at the Sliver Creek colliery badly burned four miners. Frank Delinko 40 and Anthony Nasco were hospitalized with severe upper body burns and Delinko is reported near death. The blast was caused by a naked lamp carried by a miner.
William G Cramp cousin of Charles H Cramp president of the Kensington ship yard died yesterday at his home 1906 Diamond Street after a brief illness. He leaves a son Jacob Cramp a Republican from the Thirty second ward and was a retired ship carpenter and earlier dock master at Cramps dry dock for nearly twenty five years. He lived in the Eighteenth ward and was well regarded in maritime circles a member of several fraternal organizations.
Life saving crews from Squaw Beach report a four-masted ship ashore at the location. Weather along the coast is foul with dense fog tonight. No further details are available until rescuers return.

The origin and history of the barrel are unknown and it bears marked gold ore on one side and yh on the other with a catalogue number. Mason will inspect the contents before deciding what to do next. he doubts the material will prove to be genuine gold.
Policeman Syfrit arrested George Cloud of Eureka Steel Company for enticing Carrie Zigman from her home at 223 Pennell street. Zigman, about 18, had been missing a week. Warrant served. Carrie and 18-year-old Mamie Anderson were found in Cloud’s rooms on West Third street. Cloud, formerly a butcher, faces the charge.

Harry Pforzheimer a 22 year old man arrested Sunday at 2207 Susquehanna avenue on a New York warrant charging embezzlement and forgery remains in custody at City Hall. Magistrate Cunningham committed him to await New York authorities action amid police reticence over who instigated the arrest.

Elmer Agie aged 24 was shot by his mother Mrs Albert Eldridge a few miles west of Sharon last night and wounded badly.
