Buenos Aires reports a brutal heat wave with 102 sunstrokes named as the day’s tally across the city and nearby areas. Ninety three sunstrokes proved fatal as temperatures reached 120 degrees in the shade.
A funeral service was held Tuesday morning aboard the St Paul at sea for a 10 month old girl, daughter of Mrs Francis L Young of Roxbury. Purser R D Williams read the rites as the tiny coffin, adorned with flowers, was lowered into the ocean near the vessel. Also aboard was Mrs Walden, who recently died in Paris.

Ottumwa Iowa February 4 Rev Booker Fox one of the most noted negro evangelists in the West today aged 104 years. He was born to Neabpie Line.
Martha Spaulding Norris widow of James W. M. Norris founder of the Chicago Evening Journal died in Ottumwa Iowa. She was 93 years old and had been prominent in literary circles. Baker’s boy Charles Weisenborn, 18, given a police detention as a witness, confessed last night to beating 12 year old Hugh Dugan to unconsciousness in a Pearl Street alley. He claimed the boy provoked him and denied intent to kill, saying he later believed the child was dead. The Dugan boy, known as Goofy, lived at 2082 Wood Street. his death followed a late Saturday encounter.
