In Wilkesbarre on February 3 the Luzerne County Court of Quarter Sessions sentenced ex county official Andrew J. Williams to a hundred dollar fine for extortion and bribery. George M. Nagle and Patrick F. Lynch pleaded guilty to conspiracy and were fined and jailed four months. Ex-treasurer James Courtright pleaded guilty to embezzlement and received two years six months in jail. Martin McDermott, found guilty of second degree murder, got five years and three months. Thomas Campbell, convicted of first degree murder, was sentenced to be hanged.
