German man arrested after eye stabbing on Third Street
William Steeler of 317 North Fourth street was dangerously stabbed in the right eye during a disturbance on Third Street below Buttonwood by German resident William Haney of 476 North Third street. Tragic Memphis Shooting Claims Father and Infant
In Memphis on December 24 Detective Willian C Pride, waking in fear, fired his pistol while half asleep. The round pierced his five month old child and his wife, killing both within hours. An inquest is being held as Pride is described as nearly crazed.
