A massive blast at 2134 North Front street destroyed a three story shoe store and home, injuring seven firefighters and trapping a man in a cellar. The blast also damaged nearby properties and left Mrs Barr critically shocked after a newborn child was saved by her husband.
John W. McKimm 29 shot and killed Dr. B F Shaw in a Kansas City home where Shaw read the Sunday school lesson to his daughter aged five. McKimm, an inmate of a sanitarium and believed insane, threatened the rest of the family and was restrained after a struggle.
A man identified as LAsale Price, described as colored, died yesterday from burns suffered in a stove fire set during a Wilmington spree. Investigators note the incident occurred during the same episode of unrest.

Special Telegram to Times from Wappinger Falls New York reports that Mrs John Sullivan and Mrs Lily Hill were fatally burned when a lamp was upset at their home. Mrs Hill ran down the street with a flying torch and died soon despite an overcoat wrapping. Mrs Sullivan escaped to a neighbor's yard where her burning clothes were torn off. her death was expected. The house was saved from destruction by Dan Brouthers, former baseball player.
William Smith of 10 Laurel Street and William Kelly of 980 North Delaware Avenue shared a holiday in the northeast city area. At Front and Brown, Smith drew a revolver and fired as Kelly appeared to be moving, the bullet striking Kelly’s left hand and arm. Both men received treatment at Hahnemann Hospital.
