The Wrangell Narrows dredging is urged as essential to Alaska shipping. Larger vessels, longer routes, and safer navigation depend on deeper water. Mayor Elsemere pressed Congress with Army Engineers backing the project, foreseeing action soon. A Protestant excursion sails June 27 from Seattle aboard the Jefferson, visiting Metlakatla and other Alaska sites. The voyage runs June 27 to July 10, organized by Rev. Paul G. Stevens and led by Dr. S Hall Young. Also listed are two Alaska sale notices for boats including a 37 foot trolling craft Nell and related inquiries from Sedro-Woolley, Washington. The probate estate matter of George Torrey is noted in Petersburg Territory court records.
On June 18 1923 W H Ryden was appointed administrator of the estate of George Torrey deceased by Judge T J McBride commissioner and ex officio pick. Creditors of the estate are to present their claims to the administrator.
