Pair charged in pool room robbery case facing district court
Thomas Lovelock admitted guilt in a late Saturday court appearance after a raid on Charlie Mann's pool room cash register. The Englishman, allegedly escaping with just over $20, was bound over to district court on $500 bond. Deputy U. S. Marshal Howell traced the suspect to the scene by the back room door. Lovelock, a Wrangell arrival, has a dated record in California and Wrangell, and requested deportation after his arrest.

Five More Boys Leave for Fort Seward
Five local youths Anton Strand Ingvald Nerland Carl Anderson Orris Torrison and Loyal Binkley departed on the City of Seattle Wednesday night to join the colors at Fort Seward. Friends escorted them to the wharf and wished them luck. A dinner in their honor was held Wednesday evening at the Good Eats restaurant. Olaf Martin Olsen remains unreported from the draft quotas and is believed to be somewhere on Puget Sound.

H S Worthen a Juneau mill man with six years in the city died after being caught between two logs at his mill. Funeral services were held in Juneau and the body will be sent south on the City of Seattle to Holderness New Hampshire his birthplace fifty years ago.
