Indianapolis capitalists are reportedly taking controlling interest in Blackburn and Little mines with stores at Petersburg Littles and Blackburn. The deal includes 2000 acres of coal land and a 90 day option that expired Saturday. The new company plans higher output, 40 cars daily for a year, and to expand workforce while retaining many S W Little Coal officials.

Union Meeting Converts Eureka Mine to Union Property
Members from five to six locals of the Miner's Union gathered at the Eureka Mine near Oakland City last Monday. Three to four hundred union men plus senior officers attended. after the meeting, the non-union mine became union. The locals called the event a complete success and returned home in the evening. Elvis Preston, 14, son of Fred Preston, suffered a broken right arm when his wagon horse bolted on Saturday near Alford. He received prompt medical care and is recovering well.
