Aubrey Gowen son of Mel Gowen of Clay township drowned in Hoover pond near Union Monday afternoon while swimming with boys. He sank mid pond possibly from heart disease. help arrived after fifteen minutes and life saving efforts failed. He was honored in Union with funeral services at the M E church and burial in Union Cemetery. Survived by mother Urban and three sisters Bertha Catt P B Catt and Mary. father had died years earlier from a pecan tree fall.
