Presbytery of East Hanover Meets in Makganie Church
The Presbytery of East Hanover convened at Makganie Church Drummondtown Ac somac county on Wednesday April 26 1871 with Rev C M Woods as the last moderator delivering the opening sermon Rev James A Waddell chosen moderator and Rev Mr Dudley and Colonel Munford clerks on the second day April 27 the body continued sessions discussed dissolution and transfer of Rev W A Campbell to Montgomery Presbytery while advising a possible move to Manchester Church and reported on pastoral support and revival notes. The report highlights overall church prosperity with some feeble churches and notes the large territory covered by pastors and the shortage of ministers. The presbytery set its next stated meeting at Salem Church September 14 and named commissioners to the General Assembly.
