Meat Industry Shifts Boost Poultry Efficiency Gains
Competition in meat production tightens as consumers benefit while processors adjust. Poultry meat shows higher efficiency, with broilers converting roughly 275 pounds of feed into 100 pounds of chicken, and beef consumption rising since 1940 while poultry soars. Eggs add to poultry totals, making poultry and eggs a larger annual intake than beef or pork.
