Resignation of County Surveyor and War Boundary Talks

In Miami County Jos B Campbell resigns as County Surveyor effective April 18 1840. The paper notes neutrality on political content and reports on canal plans for Wabash and Erie with commissioners named from Indiana will begin May first. It also covers Maine border tensions with Britain and congressional activity on Treasury Note and boundary negotiations. Peru township Democrats appoint delegates for district convention and pledge to back a Democratic ticket in August.
