Funeral for ex-foreman George Reed draws local firemen
Twenty seven Washington Hose Company firemen in uniform attended the funeral of George Reed in South Amboy yesterday afternoon. The procession left on the 1918 Central Railroad train. Floral tributes from the city included two pieces from Washington Hose. Reed, 25, had longtime residence here and was a former company foreman.

Weather permitting the masons will begin foundation work for St Mary's new church on Mechanic street in about two weeks. Graham and MacKeon, the cellar contractors, have made headway as the property fence is torn down and carts remove dirt. The cellar measures 60 by 125 feet and three old wells were found, one 87 feet deep with no water.
