Funeral Held In Street For Mrs Lizzie Kardos
The funeral of Mrs Lizzie Haryat Kardos was held yesterday afternoon in front of 66 New Brunswick Avenue because her home was too small for the service. The casket was placed in the street at 3 pm and Rev Darius Gabor led a one hour service with residents and her husband’s three societies attending as the street was blocked to traffic. The funeral proceeded to the cemetery after the ceremony.

The Sovereign Camp of the Woodmen of the World approved a $500 benefit payable to the widow of Christian Eskesen who died suddenly of heart failure on April 9. A monument contract valued at $100 was awarded in his memory as the local camp, organized April 15 by State Organizer A Garvin, grows to 129 members with meetings on the first and third Wednesdays at City Hall.
