Park Plan Advances In Perth Amboy Water Works Site
The Perth Amboy Board of Water Commissioners unanimously backed turning the 14 acre Eagleswood water works site over to the Board of Aldermen for park use and possible municipal lighting. Aldermen Clark outlined a roughly 180 by 190 foot tract and urged turning almost all the water works property into a public recreation area while preserving a portion for future needs.

FIRE ENGULFS FAYETTE STREET HOME. TWO FAMILIES LOST SLEEP
About 6 30 last night a three and a half story building at 103 Fayette street burned atop the structure as firemen fought for an hour. Two families were woke by the blaze and a barber shop at 337 Smith street was gutted around 3 this morning. Damage is about 2000 dollars insured. Fire started behind fixtures in the barber shop. A boarder warned Mrs. Houser. Firemen from box 65 and a second line attacked from the back. One weather-board tore loose nearly injuring assistant chief John Deveny. Two families fled briefly then returned as flames were checked. A revolver was recovered by Patrolman Bachmann.

Board transfers valve to Brnston stand pipe
The Board of Water Commissioners at last night’s meeting decided the automatic check valve for the new stand pipe on the arms property is unnecessary to prevent overflow for several years. They moved the valve to the Brnston stand pipe to guard against its overflow. The board also ended its contract with the Hudson and Middlesex Telephone and Telegraph Company for the electric tell tale, expiring July 15, 1916, which paid $100 and used the Ernston to Runyon line.
