Cabin Amboy Woodchoppers Plan July Outing

Death of Petro Stenko on Pennsylvania track near Spa Springs
Petro Stenko a 22 year old Hungarian from Woodbridge was found dead with his head crushed along the Pennsylvania Railroad tracks about 100 yards south of Spa Springs station. Coroner Bishop authorized removal to Woodbridge. The train due at 6:46 p.m. is suspected as the cause. Petro and his brother had been in town for church and were walking home when Petro disappeared and was later found.

Humorous Debate At Young Men's Literary Society

Saloonkeeper Financed for Minor Beer Violation
Emil Fitzke, saloonkeeper at Smith and Goodwin streets, was fined 40 in police court for two violations of the excise ordinance after beer was served to a seventeen year old boy on Sunday February 25. Fitzke denied selling to the boy, claiming he only gave beer to a man with the minor. The boy became intoxicated, missed work, and Fitzke paid the fines after being reminded the ordinance forbids giving beer to a minor and Sunday service.

Unexpected Witness Stuns Police Court in Beekman Case

Prank at County Jail Involves Poormaster Mundy
Special to the Evening New Brunswick reports a joke at the county jail in which Poormaster Benjamin Mundy of Raritan township, visiting an insane woman, was admitted to view the jail and later locked in a prison cell by a fellow prisoner Daniel Goldberg of Perth Amboy. Mundy was angry and the warden released him once he recovered. The case with J. E. Stricker and J. W. Beekman as counsel, set for Jersey City Saturday, was adjourned for two weeks due to Judge Helsley’s absence.
