A letter from Henry M. Fogel of Bath Pennsylvania recounts a one year old with eczema on hands face nose and mouth. Crusts formed then subsided in a week after using Cuticura Soap and Ointment as directed. The family notes sleepless nights ended and the baby slept soundly. Cuticura remedies are promoted with pricing and mail order details.
At a special meeting of the Simpson Methodist Episcopal Church board, a committee was authorized to obtain bids for updating electric light fixtures and a general interior renovation. Plans call for first class conditions, new paper in places, and woodwork painting in both the main auditorium and lecture room, with completion after vacation. While work proceeds upstairs, services will use the lecture room, and downstairs in the main auditorium.
A Halcyon Castle No. 37 committee met at 817 State Street to arrange an outing slated for a Saturday afternoon in late August. The event will feature a first class Rhode Island clam bake, games and amusements for members only, with John Jago Jr. as chairman and Thomas Lucas as secretary.

Congregation Ansey Chedek with 250 members elected Rev J Macht as rabbi for three years at their 108 Fayette street synagogue on Sunday He thanked the congregation after the vote and will begin duties this week.
Proceedings issued in Perth Amboy Fire Brick Company damages case brought by Philip Fisher in the local district court. Suit seeks 500 dollars for injuries to Fisher s fingers. Summons returnable August 1. Leo Goldberger represents the plaintiff.
Four year old Chauncey Depew wandered from his mother near Madison avenue and Smith street and was found by police. He was later returned to Mrs. Depew of Pleasant Plains after headquarters contact. The boy is unrelated to the New York senator.
The contract to build a three story brick building for D. Wolff at Madison Avenue and Smith Street has been awarded. A Newark contractor is understood to be the successful bidder. Case adjourned a week. Harris Levine of New Brunswick Avenue was arraigned on reckless driving and striking a three year old boy. case adjourned until next Monday pending injuries.
Chief of Police Burke was notified by Division Superintendent Van Deursen that non-uniformed police on Public Service Railway cars must pay fares. City Attorney Hommann had opined that police travel should be free under the franchise, and the police are expected to dispute the ruling.
During the summer months at the Presbyterian chapel weekly prayer meetings will feature different societies or members each week. July 20 new members of the April communion, July 27 new members of the July communion, August 3 Foreign Missionary Society, August 10 Young People's Christian Endeavor, August 17 Men's Society, August 24 Sunday school officers and teachers, August 31 committee of aes, September 7 Home Missionary Society. Dr and Mrs Edgar Campbell will attend.
The funeral for Mrs Marie Nielsen who died at her Woodbridge home Saturday morning will be held at 8 o clock this afternoon. Interment follows at Alpine cemetery with Rev J F Christiansen of St Stephens Danish Lutheran church officiating. Representatives of the Dana Relief Society and Danish Brotherhood will attend. Lauris Nielsen, surviving husband, is a well known local resident. The Crown of England discussion notes the monarchy’s roughly 40 million dollar value from a financial angle.
The Peter Breidt City Brewing Company sold two lots with two two story frame houses to the New Jersey Terra Cotta Company. Located on Catherine street, the parcels will enlarge Terra Cotta's holdings at the south ends of Catherine and Cortlandt streets and may augment the factory's footprint. Hans Nielsen agency coordinated the sale. The Terra Cotta firm has been acquiring Cortlandt and Catherine street property for plant expansions in recent years.
Efforts are under way to organize a Modern Woodmen of America lodge in this city. Organizer Thomas Elton is in town for a few days, stopping at 154 Madison Avenue, aiming for a local lodge of about fifty members. The national group has over 1,000,000 members, with William Jennings Bryan among its members. A feature is free sanatorium treatment for consumptives, with the sanatorium in Colorado.
David Onikelsky of Trenton, who recently suffered a kicking horse injury in this city and received eighteen stitches in his leg, is visiting relatives. Another local victim, L. Shumsky, now in a New York hospital, has recovered from foot surgery and will return home soon.
Alice and Honora Toomey were arraigned before Recorder Pickersgill and discharged after being charged with incorrigibility. Their uncle John Keating of Miller Street, who complained, testified the girls were away from home all night Friday.
Abram Roy Matthews of 457 Division Street wed Florence Jeanette Batterson of 345 Market Street in a private ceremony at the Simpson M church parsonage. Dr. G C Wilding officiated with Howard Evens Batterson and Libby A Matthews as witnesses. They plan to reside on Hobart Street.
District Deputy Grand Chancellor Carl Walters of the Knights of Pythias will install Reliance Lodge officers in Rahway tonight and next Monday will install Algonquin Lodge No. 44 officers in his home city. A meeting last night planned the convention trip to New York Far Rockaway with a large delegation.
The Shade Tree Commission and president Matthew Weirup oversee pruning in City Hall Park as floral improvements are urged. Improvements will continue while funds permit, the board said, with work in various city areas planned.
Michael W. Powers fifty two night watchman at the Raritan Copper Works died at his home 100 Broad street after a brief illness. He fell from a ladder at work some time ago scratched his arm leading to blood poisoning and gangrene. Survived by his widow six children Nellie Annie Maude Frank Robert John all in this city. He was a member of Court Raritan Foresters of America and the Relief Association of the Raritan Copper Works. Funeral arrangements pending.
Tali el Honcine, an Algerian visitor known by a Turkish fez and flowing silks, was attacked while awaiting a boat near Smith and Front streets on Saturday night. Two strangers approached. one seized his valuable shawl and fled.
David Schwartz paid a fine after a complaint from Miss Oliver. Michael Gondura received ninety days in county jail for assault and battery. Antonio Palino was arrested for petit larceny but the complaint was withdrawn. Black Bart, the famed road agent, terrorized northern California stage drivers from 1876 to 1883 with twenty seven robberies. He was captured in San Francisco after a laundry cuff mark led to his identification.
