Washington April 12 The resignation of Archie ID Sanders collector of internal revenue for the Rochester New York district was received in Washington The resignation had been asked for by the president It was stated at the White House that the successor would not be announced until Secretary Cortelyou returns to Washington It is said Dr Burkhardt of Batavia New York will succeed him
A forest fire near Easthampton Nassau County area burned thousands of dollars worth of timber in Amangansett, Nasthampton and Pan tigo. From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. residents including women and children fought the flames. The blaze began in Lyman Brabcock's woods two miles from Easthampton.
Toledo April 22. After a full winter’s work A Roy Knabenshue has produced a remarkable gas engine for his airship. Weighing fifty four pounds it generates twelve to sixteen horsepower based on actual testing and is built on original lines.
