About 100 laborers at the Ostrander plant of the Perth Amboy Fire Brick Company walked off yesterday, the plant closing as workers refused to start at the whistle. Suit to Clear Kant Property In Perth Amboy
A suit in ejectment was filed in the supreme court by William H. Woglom and Emma Culver against the city of Perth Amboy Anna M. Kant and the Rahway Savings Institution with a writ of certiorari served on City Clerk La Roe Anna M. Kant and the Rahway Savings Institution. The writ is returnable May 8 but the hearing date is not set. The case concerns the Kant property at Smith and State streets a 50 by 80 foot frontage lot. If plaintiffs win the property may be partitioned among heirs giving a clear title. Mrs Kant currently holds a tax title and collects rents. The property was taxed in 1892 and bought by the city. in 1896 the city deeded it to George Seaman who later turned it over to Anna M. Kant. James L. Compton was revenue collector when the property was taxed, making the city a party to the ejectment suit.

Thunder shower causes floods and wind damage in Amboy area
A brief thunderstorm between 6 and 7 pm caused heavy rain and flooding as sewers overwhelmed and cellars flooded. High winds damaged telegraph poles and wires, with scattered outages reported to N Y and N J Telephone and others. Trolleys ran poorly, a hotel canvas sign was blown down, and rebuild work paused in rain‑soaked conditions.

Tottenville Hit Twice by Lightning Storm
Special to WIHNING NEWS, Tottenville April 20. During the first electrical storm of the season a bolt struck a tree in front of the Robinkon residence and another hit the chimney of Edgar Ellis at 79 Bentley Street. The bolt caused damage to the chimney and stove area while soot and debris covered the room. Firemen responded quickly after Ellis alerted nearby Hook and Ladder 101. The storm blew fuses in lower Tottenville.

New Brunswick April 20 lightning during a thunder storm struck a barn at the summer home of Mr. Connelly near Milltown, Newsark, destroying the structure and killing two horses.
