Rev O G Morrison now of Chicago visited his father GH Morrison at his place. Last week Miss Birdie Isenbart of Derry arrived Saturday for a visit with Bliss Ada Magart. Mrs E Van Fossen enjoyed a visit the first of the week from her friend Longshore of Verry. J M M Roland returned Sunday from a ship to Chizapo arriving at Verry Bathe Milwaukee and driving home there.
While A. A. Wilts and his family were at the fair yesterday, a rear door was broken in and drawers and trunks were rammed open. Mrs. Wiltse’s gold watch disappeared and other valuables may have been taken.
The Sunday School rally last Sunday drew a large attendance due to the new rooms and inviting atmosphere. Prof Blezek led a quarter review of lessons, followed by recitations and songs. Rev Nye delivered a brief farewell address as the school was declared a success.

Clergy from several churches staged a surprise farewell for Rev L. Nye at the M E church. Rev McDade’s funeral absence in Des Moines prompted a belated plan. Rev Brown led opening songs while Rev Rosenberger Coffman and Little spoke warmly of Nye’s ministry. The packed congregation heard Nye’s gracious reply and bid farewell.
Milwaukee brakeman Charles Beckley employed by the Milwaukee Road was run over in the Marion yards on Monday morning. One leg nearly severed near the body. he died at St Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids about midnight. Funeral held at the Christian church yesterday afternoon. Survived by two wives, Mrs Maude Howe Beckley.
Adel and Terry high school football teams schedule a game in Adel on Saturday October 3. The lineup features Mendenhall at quarterback Bazski as fall back with Pitzgerald Walliams Baier and Teen y Voltiont ADE in the backfield.
Odd incident occurred as bailiff led judge to the jury room to await a verdict in the Logan case. The attorney allegedly instructed the bailiff to keep the judge “together” until decision, triggering a tense scene. Court adjourned. the judge left papers and planned to announce the ruling soon.
