Tri County Teachers Meet At Perry Concludes In Rippey
One hundred fifteen teachers attended the second annual Tri-county Ea tion of Teachers with sessions in Perry. The convention featured lectures by Kaye of Jefferson and ACJ Wolfe of Boone, and discussed methods for improving school work and classroom practices. The vote for next year settled on Rippey as the location, with Miss Elsie Stewart and Mrs. Blezek noted for contributions to the program.

Death of Pierce Cummings Pioneer Resident Passes
Pierce Cummings died last Friday morning at his home six miles southwest of town after a brief illness. Born in 1817 in County Antrim Ireland, he came to America at age twenty and settled near Chicago before moving to LaFayette County Wisconsin and later Perry. He endured early hardships but prospered in farming and land ownership, leaving a wife, two sons James and Edward, and daughter Mrs YH of Valley Junction. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church Monday, with burial in the Catholic cemetery. The family thanks those who assisted during his sickness and death.
