The Canadian Bank of Commerce allows business by mail with any branch and opening accounts, with deposits and withdrawals possible by mail. The bank assures attentive handling of out-of-town accounts.
Local Penticton notices report R H Tate of Summerland in town, births, moves, and visits including Mr and Mrs C H Wallace moving to their fruit lot. A weekly paper The Kere meos Trumpet begins at Keremeos with J A Brown publisher. Conservative meeting set, sidewalk fundraising, school inspector praise, and Penticton Football Club elected officers and practice plans.
A social welcome for Rev A H Baker and family was held in Steward’s Hall with wide church participation. Speakers from Penticton and Summerland praised his mission, with musical solos and prayers, ending with a blessing and a fellowship meal.
After a series of successful sessions the Penticton Literary and Debating Society closed for the season on Thursday night. Treasurer's report shows a credit of 21.95. Various readings, musical numbers, and a wind up address preceded the National Anthem and an October reopening hinted.
The Citizens Dance last evening met the committee’s high expectations. Dancing ran from eight to twelve with the Penticton Orchestra providing music. About thirty five couples attended including guests from neighboring towns. The next dance is planned for Easter Monday April 20, aiming to be the season’s premier event. The shorter hours in winter dances were noted as an improvement.
A death occurred in Summerland on Friday the 20th after Frank De Beers bought methylated spirits from a local druggist. He drank diluted liquor, died the next evening. autopsy by Dr. Smith followed with coroner’s inquest on Monday. He was about forty five years old.

Mr Thorton John paid a visit to Penticton Sunday last. The Provincial Government of Ontario has made a grant of 160 acres of land to Mr Neil Mc Lean in recognition of military services rendered during the Fenian Raid of 1870. The land lies near Chap leau station on the main line of the C P R in New Ontario.
