Subsidy Assures Railways Open Up Southern British Columbia
Ottawa grants 5000 to improve Okanagan River navigation from Penticton to Dog Lake and a 3200 per mile subsidy for a CP line from Nicola to Penticton and Carmi to Penticton. The plan realigns routes via Penticton, boosting trade, population and mineral development along the Kettle and West Fork valleys, with Beaverdell, Carmi, and Quilchena key points. A Summerland wedding follows, unconnected to the rail news.
