Sunday School Convention Preparations in Kelowna April 9 10
The Executive Committee of the Okanagan Sunday School Association prepares for the Kelowna convention on April 9 and 10. Reports forms have been sent to all schools and superintendents are urged to answer promptly. A Palestine map contest is offered to scholars under 18. Rev. Stuart Muirhead will visit the valley this week to conduct Sunday School Institutes in Enderby Peachland Penticton and Summerland before attending the April convention.

Literary Society Grows Attendance With Irish English Readings
The Literary and Debating Society reports rising attendance near one hundred at the latest session. Papers on England and Ireland were delivered by J Barker and Rev J A Cleland. W A McKenzie read a war correspondent piece on Highlanders at Magersfontein. Mrs Thompson sang in Scotch and English. others performed songs. A debate on excluding Orientals from Canada is set for next Thursday with teams named.

Public Meeting Deliberates Cannery Purchase or Sale
A well attended public meeting Wednesday evening debated financing a cannery for another season. The S C Fruit Growers Exchange estimated a minimum of 4000 dollars needed. A motion to issue additional shares failed. A motion to dispose of the cannery passed unanimously. J W Mutch reported on Revelstoke meeting of the Fruit and Produce Exchange. Eleven Exchanges were represented. five did business through the provincial organization last year. The S O Fruit Growers Exchange will dispose of their produce next year through the central organization. Mr Ede urged planting Stone and Harli ana tomatoes.

Social Dance at Evarts Home Lively Night of Fun
A social party and dance took place at Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Evarts on Friday Feb 7 with whist for older guests and dancing supervised by floor manager W A McKenzie and assisted by Paul Brodhagen of the Golden Zone mine Hedley Camp. Music by Mr. F Weeks, lunch served at 12 30, Leap Year partner choosing by the ladies. Attendees included many local residents and visitors from Winnipeg. the event ended about 3 a m. Geo E Winkler had just sold five thousand dollars worth of Westbank property last month. A visiting party from Winnipeg meanwhile toured Peachland but snowstorms delayed sightseeing commitments.
