Zumba instructor gets 10 months for vice case in Maine

Alexis Wright, a Zumba instructor in Kennebunk, received a 10 month jail term after pleading to 20 counts linked to a vice scheme with Mark Strong. Prosecutors say she capitalized on clients, collected over 150 clients, $150,000 tax free, and more than $40,000 in welfare during an 18 month period. Wright urged others to come forward, saying she seeks to help people in similar situations as she faces restitution of about $57,281.54.

Patchinville Bridge Set to Open Monday in Clearfield County

Patchinville's Patchinville Bridge on SR 3014 Burnside Township opens Monday after April closure for repairs by PennDOT Clearfield County Maintenance. Built in 1950, the 21 foot span carries about 300 vehicles daily with deck replacement and drainage improvements. The structure will be removed from the list of structurally deficient bridges.

Oil slips below 92 as OPEC holds target amid ample supplies

Oil prices fell to about 91.97 a barrel in New York and Brent at 100.39 as OPEC kept its 30 million barrel a day target despite abundant crude. U.S. gas averaged 3.61 a gallon, with May costs dipping from refinery issues and overall oil demand softening with eurozone unemployment rising to 12.2 percent.

PennDOT outlines next week road work and detours

The Clearfield County PennDOT maintenance schedule lists bridgework on Route 3014 Patchinville detour lift and SR 36 Mahaffey, mowing on SR 53 Houtzdale and countywide areas, guide rail repairs, shoulder and drainage improvements, line painting and crack sealing on interstates and state routes, base repairs on local roads, tree trimming on SR 2027, and contractor work by Grannas Brothers on SR 4014 Schaeffer Road and SR 255 Treasure Lake to Sabula with wearing course placement.
