Clearfield Creek Watershed group reports progress and personnel changes
At the July meeting the Clearfield Creek Watershed Association reviewed July 10 media day tours of Klondike and Ferris Wheels sites and noted a special bid-opening for Klondike work with none accepted yet. Treasurer Larry Sutton resigned. Dane Kalwanowski named interim treasurer as projects were outlined including Klondike iron and acidity removal rates and near neutral water from KL2, Ferris Wheel treatment near complete, and joint discharge mapping with Penn State.

DuBois Bridge on Route 4019 to open Thursday
The state Department of Transportation will open the Route 4019 DuBois Street Bridge in DuBois on Thursday. After opening, the detour around the project will be lifted. Francis J. Palo Inc. conducted the $3.8 million project, with PennDOT thanking motorists for patience and urging seat belt use. More roadway information is on the PennDOT website.

Kiwanis Plans Chicken Barbecue in Philipsburg
The Philipsburg Kiwanis Club will hold a takeout only chicken barbecue on September 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Rush Township building opposite Philipsburg Osceola football field. Tickets cost 8 dollars and are sold at Moshannon Valley YMCA, Walter Hopkins & Co. or through Kiwanis members.

Historical society plans repairs to Bloody Knox
Clearfield County Historical Society plans repair work at Bloody Knox with board members to install new roof caps and flue pipe. Susan Williams joins the board to serve on Endowment and Memorials. Training sessions on genealogy and acquisition records will be held during winter closures.
