Budget talks loom as DASD weighs cuts and redistricting
DuBois Area School District officials project a 2 percent state revenue rise but plan to eliminate the kindergarten accountability grant. Expenditures rise 0.70 million to 54.38 million, with salaries and benefits making up most costs. Staffing cuts, boundary revisions, and a 4 day summer week are proposed to trim expenses while open enrollment remains. Public budget review runs May through June, with May 10 work session and June 20 final adoption. Community concerns focus on redistricting impacts and bus safety near proposed new schools.
