Peninsula flu woes may be peaking says health official

Sequim Irrigation Festival crowns 16 year old queen
Sequim High junior Angela Bentley won the 118th Sequim Irrigation Festival queen title, premiering with a red gown and poem. Her sister Molly was a former princess. Bentley, sponsor Pacific Mist Books, plans reading programs and journalism studies, with the festival May 3–12 culminated by the Grand Parade May 11 and a dancing valley theme.

End of an era as Peninsula Hallmark shop closes
SEQUIM residents bid farewell to Phillips Hallmark at Washington Plaza 680 W. Washington St after 15 years in Sequim and 37 years across Sequim and Port Angeles. Owners Mike and Willa Phillips will wind down when the lease ends in February, likely closing around Valentine's Day. The store will run holiday displays through February with seasonal items for Christmas Mother’s Day and St Patrick’s Day remaining on sale.
