Port Townsend musician earns spot in upcoming film soundtrack
Brian Ellard from Port Townsend has his original Goodbye Song chosen for the film Dead in 5 Heartbeats inspired by Sonny Barger. The movie, with Jeff Black and others, releases April 5 in select theaters. about 30 songs were selected from roughly 200 donated via Facebook. Ellard may earn royalties if his tune appears on the soundtrack CD.

Man to plead guilty in Pimentel death case
Kevin A. Bradfield, of Port Angeles, will plead guilty to first degree murder in the October 2011 strangulation death of 27 year old Jennifer Pimentel. A 1 p.m. change of plea before Judge Erik Rohrer at Clallam County Courthouse follows a scheduled Feb. 4 trial.

Sequim selects Genaveve Starr 68 to fill the council seat left by Don Hall. The four to two vote followed interviews among five candidates with John Butler and John Jensen each receiving one ballot.
