A 6,000 square foot state of the art play set at Shane Park on the west side between Sixth and Eighth streets and G and E streets is 90 percent complete and due to open as spring arrives. City funds and a $70,000-plus community drive, led by Shane Fowler’s mother, backed a $100,000 city pledge for the project, with a planned ribbon cutting when softball tournaments start in April.
