Madison Lodge No 44 emerges in Madison County Masons
In early 1841 Madison Lodge LL D received dispensation to operate as a Master Mason lodge with officers Bell Mershon Irish Cook and others. After early meetings and relocations the lodge grew, moved to Pendleton then Anderson, and inspired new lodges across the region.
