William J. Bryan travels through Wyoming campaigning for Wilson. He left Rawlins this morning and is to speak tonight in Cheyenne from the rear platform enroute, before heading to Nebraska tomorrow.
Senator William Alden Smith of Michigan, chairman of the Senate committee investigating the Mexican revolution, reopened the probe in Los Angeles as several Americans mistreated by Mexican rebels are set to testify. The return of witnesses prompted the resumption of hearings this morning.
New York Sept 30 Miss Annie S Peck the explorer and mountain climber has written to Rudolph Spreckles offering to stump the country for Governor Wilson under the Wilson National Progressive Republican league of which Spreckles is president.
Diplomatic circles in Mexico City on September 30th believe Madero is given a set period to quell the uprising and that American intervention will follow if he fails. It is thought President Taft has sent a message to that effect. The outlook is that Madero cannot crush the rebellion nor can the revolutionists overthrow him.

Washington September d0 The sweeping investigation of Big Business in politics began today by a special senate committee. Questions focus on how far big business influenced legislation, and which senators and representatives had intimate correspondence with trust heads? How much money did corporations give to influence nominations and elections. Witnesses are ordered to appear before the five member select committee under the Penrose resolution with Clayg as chairman and La Follette widening the scope to include all correspondence affecting legislation.
In Pendleton Oregon a crowded Oregon theater heard Rev Father Bernard Vaughan of London lambaste socialism. He praised some socialist efforts but warned the doctrine undermines state and family. He contrasted alchemy’s failed promise with socialism and condemned its lack of justice and work incentives. The speaker praised the Round-up and praised Oregon and Pendleton before criticizing socialist governance and the effects on character and home.
Final pretrial conferences were held in Indianapolis as 41 members of the International Association of Bridge and Iron Workers face charges of illegally transporting dynamite. Senator John W. Kern represents the defense and expressed confidence in an acquittal after extended sessions with the defendants.
Tacoma visitors cheered the Pendleton Round-Up drama and gave high praise. Leaders from Tacoma, including university and chamber of commerce figures, praised the educational value and organization of the event and forecast larger future attendance and ongoing growth.
