Senator Cummins greeted President Taft in Des Moines and debated amendments to the arbitration treaty. Taft urged a change to reserve power to the Senate, Cummins promising support if the amendment passed. Louis La Bone Pioneer of Pendleton Dies at 7 A M

Louie La Bone a Pendleton and Oregon pioneer dies at his home after a paralysis illness. Born September 20 1836 in Nashville Tennessee he traveled west in 1862 and helped found Pendleton’s early life including the first photo gallery and local Odd Fellows lodge. He left a son Louis Leonard La Rone and a planned burial at Olney Cemetery with Pioneer pallbearers.
