Mountain lion killed near Milton sheep ranch
W EF Jones returned from the Minam headwaters with the skin of a nine foot mountain lion killed near his sheep ranch. The animal could have caused heavy sheep losses but seemed to have moved into the area briefly. Local events include church services, a telegram regarding Rev. Mr. Smith, a Lumber Co official attending a funeral, a delayed Spokane train due to a derailment, visits from Portland and Tacoma residents, a student heading to Eugene, and a large gathering in Walla Walla for the Dok kde tribe. The county court authorized six miles of road work along the Walla Walla river from Milton, with 40 to 60 workers and a rock crusher slated for months.
