Aviators Watch Direct Is Scored On Big Factory

United Free Staff Correspondent reports from the Metz front on Sept. 19 that American aviators observed heavy artillery shells landing near a large factory and fortifications. The advance continues with the line extending from Henvaus to Champey, while the enemy is said to be mining Haumont and retreating toward Mars Lane and Chambley. A patrol crossed the Moselle about 200 yards beyond Magny. British forces repelled a major German counterattack near Parrincoert on Sept. 10. Haig reports German assault along an eight mile front near Cambrai was driven back with heavy losses as British posts held and improved positions south and west of Ploeestoert.

Thirty-five Miles by Canoe Brings Youth to Pendleton Show
