La Grande September report says 90 000 acres of unallotted Umatilla reservation lands opened recently will be taken by next Monday. Few contest cases expected as most deeds go to squatters already on the land. Dissatisfaction among residents remains historically low.

Disturbances earlier in the night involved two men shouting and burning papers. The women and two men were sighted walking toward Hilgard along the railroad track. trunks await instruction at the depot.
