Fire on the W and C trestle disrupts Vansycle to Cannon line
A trestle on the W & C railroad between Vansycle and Cannon burned yesterday afternoon halting traffic for hours. Sparks from an engine likely started the fire, the span about 300 feet long. Two engines aided the Pendleton train from Pasco, one returning after crossing the burning trestle. Crews worked overnight to repair it, with the regular morning service resuming at 5 o’clock.
