Joe Allen formerly in the meat business in Pendleton and well known here was instantly killed Saturday evening in a collision between two trains in the La Grande yards. John Siebert, local tailor and councilman, was with him in a stock ranch venture and left yesterday morning after learning of the death. Dispatches from La Grande quote Olenan noting the wreck at 9 oclock. Injured include L. L. Hewitt of Portland, J B Henderson of Calgary, and J B Cooper of Mood River. The stockmen had been buying cattle and horses for Portland and Canadian markets. responsibility will be determined after an investigation by O W R N head officials.

Pioneer of this City Passes Away
Aime DeLongvert, Pendleton pioneer and veteran cement worker, died suddenly at 121 Mission street from heart trouble. He was 65, native of southern France, came to Pendleton in 1885, never married, with three sisters in France. Funeral 7:30 from Folsom parlour to Catholic church, interment at Olney cemetery. DeLongvert helped lay the Golden Rule hotel foundation and contributed to many early buildings.
