General Wil kens M. Graferm mine planter keel laid
The General Wilk ens M. Graferm mine planter built by New York Shipbuilding Corp saw keel laying as part of a federal program to construct vessels for navy army and the Emergency Fleet Corporation. The ceremony followed the Chenerie Drain reevaluation and the project aimed to produce many ships. By August 16 the keel was two percent complete.
