Canal work to start at Celilo with new lock planned
Long delayed Columbia River improvements resume with concrete work to begin late this week. A revised cost estimate due to higher labor and material costs will be prepared after an extensive review by Colonel Roessler and the chief of engineers. The new lock three miles from Celilo will safeguard the canal from high water pressure and aid future boat service.
